biography of Thomas alva edison


Thomas Alva Edison is one of the inventors who contributed greatly to the world thanks to its invention of incandescent lamps. Thomas Alva Edison was born in Milan, Ohio on February 11, 1847 He is the seventh and last child of Samuel Edison  and Nancy Elliot. He did not learn to talk until he was almost four years of age.
In 1854 his parents moved to Port Huron, Michigan. Edison grew up there. Edison was only attending school for 3 months. Thomas was expelled from school because when at thomas school included a student who is often left behind and he is regarded as a student who is not talented and always gets a low score.his mother, Nancy Matthews Elliott (1810 -1871) decides to teach his own son. his mother also helped him become motivated.
Though not school, thomas shows a deep inquisitive nature and always wants to try. At the age of 11, Thomas built a simple chemistry laboratory in the basement of his father's home. A year later he managed to make a telegraph that despite its primitive shape
at the age of 12 thomas worked as a newspaper seller and candy on a train that operated between Port Huron and Detroit city. In order for his spare time on the train was not wasted. Thomas asked for permission from the railroad company, "Grand Trunk Railway", to create a small laboratory in one of the railway cars. It was there that he experimented and read the literature while he was off duty
In 1861 there was a civil war between the northern and southern states. Thomas Alva Edison saw this opportunity and bought an old 12-dollar printing press, then printed his own newspaper called "Weekly Herald". He also pocketed US $ 400 in a day
In 1868 Edison got a job as a telegraph operator in Boston. In free time Thomas developed a stock ticker and earned US $ 40,000. This money was used to build companies and laboratories in Menlo Park, New Jersey. This is where Thomas invented his discovery
Thomas was married twice, First in 1871 with a woman named Mary Stilwell and ended in 1884, and the second with Mina Miller from 1886 to the end of her life. The founder of General Electric company in 1890 was also blessed with 6 children namely

He is also known as a culprit in the field of American government defense after researching such things as detecting aircraft, destroying the periscope with machine guns, detecting submarines, stopping torpedoes with nets, raising torpedo power, camouflage vessels, and many others
